New years in San Diego by Marleen

Me and my family were very excited to celebrate new years in San Diego because it was a big city and there was a lot to do. On new years eve. me and my mom went out and got our nails done, which took up most of the day but after that we went down town walked around the mall,after that went to Ralphs and got party hats,necklesies,horns,and confetty.

Then walked around town for a while and when it got dark like around 10:30 we went on Fifth street,when we went there we seen so many people there, so we just said "happy new year" to everyone!!

We walked down throwing confetty at everyone and when it was time for the count down we stoped at this restraunt and did the count down with everyone there, also after that we crossed the street and went all the way back up Fifth, on our way back up my phone fell out of my poket by Starbucks i didn't find out untill we where a few blocks from there,

I told my mom and dad after that we went walking back looking on the ground a few minutes later my mom decided to call it, and when she did a secerty person answered it and said, "Hello I found this phone on the middle of the cross walk by Starbucks,do you know whos phone this is?" my mom said "yes its my daughters phone and we are on our way right now to come get it..." so ya it was scary only for a little bit, but after that we finished walking back up Fifth saying "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!"

Then finally we were heading to the trolly saying how much fun we had,when we go to Chula Vista at the hotel we hung out and took New Years pictures then went to bed around 1:35 it was very fun and amazing!!! In the morning we ate breakfast and talked alot about how much fun we had, we couldnt stop talking about it for a couple days. And now i will never forget about that day, I wish evryday was like that day!!!!

Kokeshi are Japanese antique dolls. Kokeshi are from northern Japan of the Tohoku region. The dolls were made late during the Edo period. These dolls were handmade of wood. The kokeshi dolls are very simple in design they all have common in design like round heads and slim bodes.

They soon became popular all over Japan and like as wooden toys. One thing kokeshi have in common is the lack of arms and legs. The Tohoku region was best known for hot springs and selling visitor the dolls.

Many people colliect Kokeshi dolls nowadays. The price of these dolls are about 25 to 100 dollars or more for the antique dolls. These traditional dolls are antiques. I think the Kokeshi big head makes them really cute.

The Mexican flag is a vertical tri-color of green,white, and red with the national coat of arms charged in the center of the white stripe.

The coat of arms derives from an Aztec legend that their gods told them to build a city where they found an eagle eating serpent on a nopal.This is how Mexico was originated.

Have you heard Bob Marley's history? Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945 in Jamaica. He is one of the most loved artist from reggae. Bob Marley died in May 11, 1981 at the age of 36. Bob Marley's real name is Nesta Robert Marley. He had 13 children's with different wife's. He got skin cancer in his toes at the age of 32. He refused to get treatment in his toes where he had skin cancer.

Bob Marley religion was Rastafarian where he learn about about love and racism. Bob Marley got shot and waited in the waiting room for an hour and survived. When Bob Marley died they found 32 different kind of lice's in his hair.

I'll always say if you are mad listen to Bob Marley and you will relax. For my opinion Bob Marley is one of the best reggae singers in the world. One message that Bob Marley said through his songs is LOVE.

Have you ever heard of a sugar glider?Probably not because they're not common in California or United States for all that matters.

Sugar Gliders are little animals that eat hamster food. Sugar Gliders are mostly nocturnal(night animals). During the time they do come out they glide everywhere to get around. Sugar Gliders are real cute and fluffy animals that look like squirrels combined with chipmunks.

When a girl Sugar Glider has a baby you can't hold it until it is a year old or the mom will bite you. The female Sugar Glider is pregnant with her baby for about 4-5 months. It is usually pregnant with baby sugar gliders at once.

Sugar Gliders don't weigh more than a pound! Sugar Gliders are as big as your hand.

Jerkin' started in the 1960's from the the jerk(dance) made by Don Julian. The jerk dance is similar to the monkey(1900's dance).

After that jerkin' was in. But from time to time it got old and nobody liked it anymore. That happened until the New Boyz made a song called,"You're a Jerk." That song made everybody go in a jerkin' craze.

After a couple months jerkin' was old and so was the song. Until a song by Audio Push made everyone remember how fun it was. That soon got really old and people still didn't have the need to jerk.

But out of nowhere a group called the Power Rangers(sooner named just The Rangers). The Rangers got sponsored by Vlados when they first started a couple years ago. After that everyone started jerkin again.

Everywhere you go you can see jerk crews. Now to see whose the better jerk crews, they have jerk battles. If one jerk cre wins the battle they get named better than the other crew. A way to show there victory is on a socail website like Twitter. Also jerk crews get more publicity by posting their videos on youtube.

So it's weird how a popular dance can stick around for that many years and still be alive.

There are many jerk crews (dance crews that mainly focus on jerkin;a type of dance) in the world. But there are not many jerk stores.

One of the only jerk stores in California is Vlados. Vlados sell many things like shoes to shirts. Vlados sponsored many jerk crews such as The Rangers. Vlados focus alot on jerkin. Thats why they sell so much jerk clothes.

Vlados mainstore is in L.A. Their store is called Underground station but everyone knows that the main name is really just Vlados.

Vlados newest brand is called Spectros. Spectros is their newest brand of shoes. It is real comfortible and are meant for jerking. Vlados have been around since about 2002. So many people have already heard of them.

Vlados is really successful since they sponsor alot of famous jerk crews. Some Vlados are really cheap butsome are real expensive. There are a couple stores to get Vlados besides the main store like Sportie L.A. So if your a jerker save up to get some Vlados.

There are many advanced technologies right now. One of those technologies is the Iphone.

Iphone is the newest of the smart-phones. You can do many things on it. You can play games, watch movies, play your favorite songs, read books, and many, many more stuff.

Iphones arent only good for adults. Kids can enjoy Iphones too. It is a great starter phone because you can do almost anything on the Iphone. Also if your tired and dont want to type then you can just go to voice control, say what you want to go to on your phone, and then it takes you there.

Also they made a new Iphone called Iphone 4. Iphone 4 has a camera on both the front and the back. And there is this new thing called facetime where you can talk to anyone else with an Iphone 4 and you can see them face-to-face like on skype.

Even if the Iphone costs you alot and you don't have enough money for apps then your ok because a lot of apps are free on Itunes.

They just made Iphones for Verizon so now they have better connection. And Iphones are way cheaper so you can get get one at almost any electronic store.

Linkin Park is one of the most well known bands in the world.

Linkin Park consists of many members. But the t main guys are Chester and Mike. They are the ones that started the great band.

Through out the years Linkin Park have had really great songs. They were in hiatus for a year but now they're back and they have a new cd. There new cd is called a thousand suns and it's really good. It's currently out right now.

To promote their new cd they're going on a tour. Some concerts are already sold out in some areas. They are having a concert in San Diego called A Thousand Suns in Febuary.

You can get tickets to see them at TicketMaster and i hope you do because this will be a really good concert and it will be not right to miss it.

Guitars are family to the tanbur, the setar, and the sitar. Guitars are loved by musicians everywhere and is the most common instrument in the world. Guitars were made in Europe in the 12 century. It was called guitar from the old persian word tar meaning string.

There are many other kinds of guitars in the world. Acoustic, electric, and many other kinds. there are mostly 6 string guitars but they have 12 string guitas and double neck guitars.

Some people are naturally great at playing guitar but some have to go to guitar lessons which are usually 100 dollars a month. And after a couple months you can be great at guitar and have alot of fun.
